West Bengal BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari has approached the Calcutta High Court demanding a CBI probe into the alleged death of a person from his convoy in Chandipur.
Shubhendu Adhikari has filed a case in the court of Justice Rajasekhar Mantha and demanded CBI to investigate the accident. The CID has taken over the investigation of this case on Sunday. He alleged that the state government is not providing adequate security on the route on which the convoy is going. The hearing of this case is next Wednesday. After this death, TMC leader Shubhendu Adhikari is demanding arrest.
One person died in a collision with a convoy car in Chandipur
A young man died in a road accident on May 4 in Chandipur. A young man named Sheikh Israfil was crossing the road near Chandipur petrol pump last Thursday. There was an accident. There has been upheaval in the politics of the state regarding this issue. Local residents started protesting by blocking the road. In protest, local people blocked National Highway 116B going to Digha.
After this incident, Anand Kumar Pandey, the driver of the convoy, surrendered at the Chandipur police station. However, the local court later released the driver on bail. Chandipur police station has issued a notice to four people involved in Shubhendu Adhikari's convoy to investigate the accident.
TMC attacked Chandipur incident
According to the information received since the car is bulletproof car. So it is heavier than normal car. The vehicle kept a distance of at least two to two and a half kilometers from the convoy. Three days later the forensic team visited the accident site and collected samples. CID has taken over the investigation of the incident on Sunday.
After this incident, Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Dola Sen, Chandipur MLA Soham Chakraborty, Trinamool IT Cell Head Debanshu Bhattacharya, Birbaha Hansada, Sayantika Bhattacharya, Tanmay Ghosh, Jaya Dutta, Sudeep Raha and other representatives met the family of the deceased. He gave 5 lakh rupees to the family members of the deceased in Chandipur.
Trinamool is demanding the arrest of Shubhendu Adhikari in this incident. However, BJP's All India Vice President Dilip Ghosh claims that it is not yet certain that Shubhendu Adhikari's death is due to being hit by a car in the convoy. The BJP leader feels that death is being politicized unnecessarily.
